# Licensing

This repository has more than one license. Each license covers a different type of file. The table shows which license applies to which files.

## Why the data has a non-commercial license

The data comes from D-PLACE. D-PLACE uses the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 license. The files in `data/` and the results that use them keep this license.

* You can share and adapt the data and the results for non-commercial purposes.
* You must give credit. See [CREDITS.md](CREDITS.md).
* You must not use the data or the results for commercial purposes.

The location data comes from Glottolog. Glottolog uses the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license.

> **Note:** The MIT license of the code does not remove the non-commercial limit on the data.

## How to give credit

* **For the code:** keep the copyright notice in [LICENSE](LICENSE).
* **For the text, the page design and the data:** write "Brianna R. Imm, ML Applications in Anthropology", add a link to the repository, and state your changes.
* **For the icons:** credit the icon authors in [CREDITS.md](CREDITS.md).
* **For the header images:** the Pixabay License does not require credit. Credit is good practice.
